Job Summary

At Jerry's Chevrolet GMC, we are expanding our team and are in need of a Automotive Sales Consultant! Jerry's is a family owned dealership located in Vermillion, SD. We have pioneered a unique, customer-focused TEAM SALES approach and are in need of expanding our sales staff. This is a great opportunity for individuals with good people skills willing to learn Jerry's way of treating customers. Business has never been better!

Responsibilities and Duties

• Understands automobiles by studying characteristics, capabilities, and features; comparing and contrasting competitive models; inspecting automobiles.
• Develops buyers by maintaining rapport with previous customers; suggesting trade-ins; responding to inquiries; recommending sales campaigns and promotions.
• Qualifies buyers by understanding buyer's requirements and interests; matching requirements and interests to various models; building rapport.
• Demonstrates automobiles by explaining characteristics, capabilities, and features; taking drives; explaining warranties and services.
• Closes sales by overcoming objections; asking for sales; negotiating price; completing sales or purchase contracts; explaining provisions; explaining and offering warranties, services, and financing; collects payment; delivers automobile.
• Provides sales management information by completing reports.

Qualifications and Skills

• Ability to read and comprehend instructions and information
• Computer knowledge preferred
• Professional personal appearance
• Excellent communication skills

• All applicants must be able to demonstrate ability to pass pre-employment testing to include background checks, MVR, drug test, credit report, and valid driver license

- Sell new and used vehicles to customers by understanding their needs and interests
- Develop and maintain relationships with customers to ensure repeat business and referrals
- Conduct cold calls and follow-up calls to potential customers
- Manage inventory control to ensure vehicles are available for sale
- Utilize retail math skills to calculate pricing, discounts, and financing options for customers
- Stay up-to-date on market trends and changes in the automotive industry
- Organize and maintain customer information in a CRM system

Experience:

- Proven experience in car sales or a related field
- Strong math skills, including the ability to calculate pricing, discounts, and financing options
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Organizational skills to manage inventory control and customer information
